چکیده

Background Subclinical tenosynovitis arose as a primary sign of inflammation already in the pre-clinical phases Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and is common feature active state might persist although sustained remission achieved. Objectives To assess histological features (teno)synovium from extensor digitorum tendons hand across RA trajectory to compare it with paired synovial tissue samples. Methods Thirty-seven patients underwent minimally invasive ultrasound (US)-guided biopsy tenosynovium [n=16 clinically suspected arthralgia (CSA), n=19 (n=4 naïve, n=6 resistant csDMARDS, n=8 bDMARDs, n=1 respectively)]. Twenty-three out 37 presenting CSA or evident synovitis peripheral joint (whether anatomically adjacent not tendon interest) US-guided (ST) also that location. The Krenn score (KSS) inflammatory infiltrate using CD68/CD21/CD3/CD20 immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis were assessed for each sample. Results Tenosynovium belonging compartment wrist was successfully collected technique enabled retrieve representative samples terms lining sublining layers presence 86.5% 100% cases, respectively. Considering pre-arthritis subgroup, KSS similar ACPA/RF pos vs neg (p=0.5814) contingent activity, being significantly higher naïve (ANOVA p<0.001) compared CSA. Moreover, comparison between (teno)synovial two anatomical locations revealed value (p>0.999) IHC showed comparable enrichment CD68 , CD20 CD3 cells (for all comparisons p>0.05) sites, naive c- b-DMARDs patients. procedure well tolerated, no injury occurred within 10 months follow-up. One patient developed local hematoma recovered after topic treatment. Conclusion (Teno)synovium retrievable through its directly related disease state. Semiquantitative degree cellular composition sites same person. REFERENCES: NIL. Acknowledgements: Disclosure Interests None Declared.

Changes in Glycosylation of Alpha-1-Protease Inhibitor in Inflammation (Rheumatoid Arthritis and Crohn\'s Disease)

Alpha-1-proteinase inhibitor (API) is one of the acute phase proteins. Following an inflammatory stimuli the concentration of API increased up to four folds. Accompanying these quantitative changes, there is qualitative alterations in the structure of carbohydrate moiety (glycosylation). To determine the alterations in the glycosylation of API in inflammation, API was isolated from the sera of...

Rheumatoid arthritis: a synovial disease?

Hypothesis Although rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is believed to be primarily an inflammatory disease of synovium, there is a good possibility that the initiation of the rheumatoid process is triggered by the autoimmune reaction involving type II collagen in the articular cartilage as a consequence of an unknown aetiological agent. Synovitis and other extra-articular features may be induced seconda...

Comparative Measurement of Rheumatoid Factor in Serum and Synovial Fluid of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients by ELISA and Latex-Agglutination Test

Rheumatoid factors (RF) are autoantibodies with specificity for the Fc portion of human IgG. Production of RF is a characteristic feature of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and is detectable in high titer in about 90% of these patients. In this study, we measured total IgM, IgA, IgMRF and IgARF in serum and synovial fluid of 45 RA patients by ELISA and the results were compared with those obtained b...

Bilateral Synovial Knee Chondromatosis in a Patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis: Case-report and Literature Review

We presented a female patient with RA complaining of progressive pain, swelling, and crepitation of the knee joints that was diagnosed with bilateral synovial chondromatosis (SC) of both knees. Radiographies revealed characteristic findings of SC including multiple calcified multifaceted loose bodies within both knees. Removal of cartilaginous segments as well as total synovectomy was performed...
